The latest from Behemoth’s consistently excellent ‘Me Time’ series of single hopped IPA’s, with the classic New Zealand hop, Motueka, taking the stage this time around. Lime citrus is dominant on the nose, with tropical notes of pawpaw, rockmelon and a hint of rosemary. The flavours are harder to pin down. There’s lime juice and soft tropical fruit, and even dried mango and pawpaw, but a pungent herbal grassiness cuts its way down the palate just before the finish. There may be only one hop, but nonetheless this is an IPA with a remarkable diversity of flavours. Maybe not my favorite of the Me Time series, but definitely one of the more unusual.
